Welcome to the Manahattan College Chapter of Tau Beta Pi!

Announcements

We will be taking a tour of the BROOKLYN BREWERY on Saturday March 27th, departing from Manhattan College at 11:30am. We will meet in the entrance of Leo at 11:25am. The tour itself is free of charge and will be following by a sampling session. You must be 21 or older to attend. We will be taking the subway, so if you can spare the $4 for transportation, I guarantee it will be worth your while. An email will be sent out for sign-ups, so please reply as soon as possible.

A final reminder to candidates that packets are due Thursday March 11th by 4:30pm in either the Civil or Mechanical Departments.

Past Announcements

Keep an eye out for an email from Lennis. She is collecting votes from members who were unable to attend the General Meeting on the 3rd. If you have any questions about the ratification issues or the amended bylaws, don't hesitate to contact an officer. Please respond to the email quickly so that we may email TBP HQ with the results. It is important that everyone votes because we must meet the quorum (3/4 of active members = 21 students).

Candidates, the Question of the Week for the week of March 1st has been added. Remember, candidate packets are due on the 11th!

Tentative dates for the trip to the Heartland Brewery: Saturday March 27th, Friday April 23rd or Saturday April 24th.

There will be a General Meeting for all members Wednesday, March 3rd at 3:30pm in Leo room 214. We will be voting on issues from the National Convention as well as approving our updated Chapter Bylaws. If you would like to review the Chapter Bylaws, they are already up on the website. It is imperative that all current members attend this meeting seeing as we must meet a quorum in order to vote. Candidates are urged to attend so that they can get to know more of the current chapter members. Pizza and other refreshments will be served.

Check out the freshly polished bent in the main entrance of the school. It was polished on Friday, February 20th by two of the officers and the spring candidates.

Updated Calendar, Bent Polishing and Candidate Interviews pages. Questions of the Week for February 16th and 23rd added.

There will be a General Meeting for all members this Wednesday, January 28th at 4:30pm in Leo room 214. As if hearing about all of the great things the officers have planned for this semester isn't good enough for you, a little bit of free pizza should sweeten the deal!

Because of scheduling difficulties last semester, and the end-of-the-semester crunch, we were unable to hold Engimania. Plans are in the works for Engimania to become a reality on Friday, February 27. This date falls at the end of E-Week (Engineering Week, www.eweek.org) and would be a good way to get the school involved in a National event.

The First Annual Book Drive was a success, as the chapter collected over 200 books to distribute to local elementary schools.  Thanks to all who donated!
