First Annual Book Drive, October 22 - October 29, 2003

The students of the Manhattan College Chapter of Tau Beta Pi recognize that there is a problem with literacy among Bronx children.  As such, the officers came together to organize the First Annual Book Drive.

Vice President Michael Mitchell talked with principles at local elementary schools and told them of the Chapter's intent to collect and donate books.  The schools, P.S. 24 and P.S. 81, were more than happy to participate.

Members donated new and used books, and collected books for outside sources as well.  Hardesty & Hanover, a bridge engineering firm located in Times Square, was a notable contributor. 

The schools will  be receiving the books before Thanksgiving.
